A Late Winter…

It took long for the rain to fall

Our longing prayers have finally got their call

The desert is in celebration

Bringing out its best green for the occasion

An ancient scent is in the air

Sand and water have resumed their eternal affair

A late winter has finally arrived

To quench the thirst our long summer has left behind

I, too, live in a desert. We had lovely rains in the fall, but nothing since. It is dry and crisp, and clean-line beautiful. Still, I yearn for moisture in the air, in the soil, on my skin.

Enjoy the rain, and if you wish I could send you some of our rain too .. I could use a bit of the desert and the heat right now! Lovely post!
