It seems so easy a promise to make
Yet keeping a word is always at stake
Words are found when needed to say
Yet not around come the due day
Forever and always and ever as well
Simple to use and easy to tell
Tomorrow and after and further ahead
May never come for the things you said
Words are wasted when you don’t intend
A promise means nothing comes the end
About Sam
Cerca Trova is the Latin for ” Seek and you Shall Find “….
I’ve been in constant search for meaningful answers to many issues in my life..i have found some and many are still missing…
I found answers in music, in poetry,in other’s words,and my personal experience…
Yet I’m still seeking answers for so much more…
I would love to share with you what I’ve found so far,and take you along on my journey in seeking the rest…
It seems so easy a promise to make
Yet keeping a word is always at stake..
lovely rhymes, I choose this piece as your entry, hope that you enjoy the fun visiting others…
Happy Monday.
Glad to have you today.

Love your rhymes! 🙂 We sometimes don’t realize how much our words can mean to somebody. They can give hope, encourage, but also hurt and disappoint if we don’t keep our word in this case…
Thank you Magher,
It is true…A broken promise can sometimes break down someone.
They say promises are made to be broken, but I don’t agree. That shouldn’t be the case.
I like the rhyming and the flow! Happy New Year! 🙂
Thanks for your comment and Happy New Year to you too. Unfortunately promise most of the times end up to be broken…May be it is human nature…I guess it goes back to Adam and Eve…:-)
Auch! They say that promises are better when they´re left unspoken… I wonder if out there someone can truly stick to their promises, besides God of course.
True Lu…It is very difficult to stick to one’s promise, yet one tries his best.
Thanks for your comment.
I think what you wrote is beautiful, and I feel a personal connection to it… I’m curious who broke what promise.
Thank you Jon,
It is somehow related to many aspects in life, work, friendship, relationships, etc…lately it was a work related issue. Too bad promises are always broken.
Promises sincerely meant sometimes and still easily broken.
Fine work here. Enjoyed the poem a lot.
Hope you are enjoy Rally and visits and visitors. Happy 2011.
Happy 2011 to you as well…and I will surely be enjoying this beautiful Rally.
Sam
Beautiful poem with nice rhymes. The anger is really felt.
Thanks Rashmi,
I was angry indeed.
i tend to let go of empty but safe phrases like “maybe” and “later”
in truth, it’s when i say those words that i feel the most apathy towards a given situation.
glad i came up with that after reading this.
