And they die…
Of hunger … Of war
A child … A newborn
And they die …
A new sun … Same sky
Another day … That goes by
And they die…
Light a candle … And pray
We care … We say
And they die …
Compassion … Is just a lie
When we look… With a blind eye
As they die…
About Sam
Cerca Trova is the Latin for ” Seek and you Shall Find “….
I’ve been in constant search for meaningful answers to many issues in my life..i have found some and many are still missing…
I found answers in music, in poetry,in other’s words,and my personal experience…
Yet I’m still seeking answers for so much more…
I would love to share with you what I’ve found so far,and take you along on my journey in seeking the rest…
The sad truth … We could only hope for better days and much more action from the rest who can do something … Very emotional, Sam!
WOW!! and Yes! Thank you for this message, Samer. How can we continue to spend money at expensive restaurants, sit complacently in from of our televisions and computers, and ignore those who die without ever knowing the joys of life, and freedom from hunger and fear? hugs, pat
Samer, will you add a Share button so we can share this with our circle of readers and friends? Thanks, pat
Oh, how much I agree with you about all your beautiful poem says! This is the primary motivation that forty years ago made me want to change this terrible human world we have created for ourselves – and has led me to Conscious Evolution, and then also to living in Auroville.
In one of my most recent posts, ‘The Money Challenge’, part 3, this is the shameful reality I am also still denouncing with a burning heart as intolerable, the first and so urgent reason why our crazy, grotesque and totally unjust ‘world economy’ must absolutely change.
Thank you for using your writing talent to also point out so strongly what is happening by our collective fault.
Compassion is a lie, so true. If we don’t act, we don’t care!
It’s a shame that we can sleep after knowing that people are dying… It is important to say it, even more important to do something about it and I don’t mean charity. Something is very wrong in the social, economical, political or whatever order of things!
A heart-wrenching truth. Well done, Sam.
Here is my offering for Potluck 48: http://charleslmashburn.wordpress.com/2011/08/14/the-lake/
Powerful message of truth, Sam. I pray the world will one day balance itself for the highest good. Thank you for sharing!
another perfect poem by you to make me cry…
sad reality check, well done.
🙂
…and the sad crescendo at the end….the world is watching with its blind eyes…
Powerful and significant Sam…
